Penny Time: the Promo

In anticipation of soon being able to show off one of our proudest achievements, we are finally able to pull back a little bit of the curtain and show you the promo that we have put together for the game Penny Time that we have been developing for Penny Skateboards. Using assets from the game, we were able to put together a promo that is meant to be snappy, exciting and enough to pique people’s interest.

EB Expo: Pocket Music Promo

We were given complete creative free rein to make a little promo for a music event happening at the Gold Coast’s EB Games Expo. The storyline is simple, as this is quite obviously what would happen if a candy-barfing boy named Arik disrupted the sleep of flying-forest beavers.

Hunz: I Get Chills

Armed with the new Photofly software from Autodesk Labs_, the IV Motion guys along with Jonas McQuiggin and Daniel Graetz came up with a video concept for the latest Hunz single. Despite a sketchy weather report, filming commenced on top of a parking garage in Fortitude Valley. The clip was shot in 11 hours on the new Red Epic camera provided by Graetz Media. After a mighty Daniel/Jonas edit session, a combined total of 275 hours were spent creating the visual effects for the four-minute clip.

This was our first project working with Two Little Indians, Junior and director Jonas McQuiggin. [[Change this to all kinds of nice stuff about Jonas and Two Little Indians and Junior etc]]. We had a lot of fun brainstorming and sketching the different characters.

After working with RHA Advertising on quite a few Hannahs campaigns, we have a bit of a routine when it comes to these retail TVCs. First we get the storyboards and graphics from the client. Then all the females in the vicinity take some time to swoon over the shoes. Finally Pete makes the images move.

For this ASCENT advertisement, all of the shoe elements were individually modeled allowing us to highlight each of the different technologies.

Good Form: there was an athletics coach on set which may have contributed to the great form on all those runners
Any Runners in the House? Our Pete Foley is of no relation to the Peter Foley who came first in the Boston Marathon in 1938 as an 85-year-old.

This is a high-energy piece created for Youth Alive’s “Mobilise 1000″ campaign. The look and feel were designed with bold colours and quick cuts to appeal to those young kids these days.

This little ad was to give customers a head’s up that the store was moving over a suburb. If Brisbane was Venice and our streets were canals, this ad could be entirely possible. You can see below some of the early character development sketch ideas. The finished product never strayed too far from the bottom one. We enjoyed the cuteness and silliness of the upper-left idea but quickly realised it was not going to work for the audience.

This ad involved a quick logo reveal and incorporated vision from the lifestyle program “Queensland’s Best Living”.

Ubermensch

Übermensch is a short film directed by Simon Temple. IV Motion was asked to do the opening elevator shaft sequence, a shot involving the changing of coal to a diamond, the end titles, and the German propaganda artwork seen on set. It was a super-heroic effort to achieve on a tight budget and small timeframe.
